Cisco CCNA VTP - VLAN Trunking Protocol
On Cisco Devices, VTP (VLAN Trunking Protocol) maintains VLAN configuration consistency across the entire network. VTP uses Layer 2 trunk frames to manage the addition, deletion, and renaming of VLANs on a network-wide basis from a centralized switch in the VTP server mode. VTP is responsible for synchronizing VLAN information within a VTP domain and reduces the need to configure the same VLAN information on each switch.
VTP minimizes the possible configuration inconsistencies that arise when changes are made. These inconsistencies can result in security violations, because VLANs can cross connect when duplicate names are used. They also could become internally disconnected when they are mapped from one LAN type to another, for example, Ethernet to ATM LANE ELANs or FDDI 802.10 VLANs. VTP provides a mapping scheme that enables seamless trunking within a network employing mixed-media technologies.

TCP and UDP port numbers
In computer networking, a port serves as an end point in an operating system for many types of communication. It is not a hardware device, but a logical construct that identifies a service or process.
A port is always associated with an IP address of a host and the protocol type of the communication, and thus completes the destination or origination address of a communications session. A port is identified for each address and protocol by a 16-bit number, commonly known as the port number.
Specific port numbers are often used to identify specific services. Of the thousands of enumerated ports, 1024 well-known port numbers are reserved by convention to identify specific service types on a host. The protocols that primarily use ports are the Transport Layer protocols, such as the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) of the Internet Protocol Suite.
In the client-server model of application architecture, ports are used to provide a multiplexing service on each port number that network clients connect to for service initiation, after which communication is reestablished on another connection-specific port number.

BGP Routing Protocol
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is a standardized exterior gateway protocol designed to exchange routing and reachability information between autonomous systems (AS) on the Internet. The protocol is often classified as a path vector protocol, but is sometimes also classed as a distance-vector routing protocol. The Border Gateway Protocol makes routing decisions based on paths, network policies or rule-sets configured by a network administrator, and is involved in making core routing decisions.
BGP may be used for routing within an AS. In this application it is referred to as Interior Border Gateway Protocol, Internal BGP or iBGP. In contrast, the Internet application of the protocol may be referred to as Exterior Border Gateway Protocol, External BGP or EBGP.

Inter VLAN Routing - Another Method - VLAN Tutorial
Inter VLAN Routing Configuration in Packet Tracer Inter VLAN Routing for multiple departments in a company. In computer networking, virtual local area network, virtual LAN or VLAN is a concept of partitioning a physical network, so that distinct broadcast domains are created. This is usually achieved on switch or router devices.

VLANs can be used to segment the network
• Reduce the size of the broadcast domain – Each VLAN is a unique broadcast domain – Different IP subnets
• No communication between VLANs
• Inter-VLAN routing is the process of forwarding network traffic from one VLAN to another VLAN using a router.

Routing Protocols and concepts (Hindi)
Cisco CCNA Routing Protocols and concepts and Practicals on EIGRP OSPF RIP EtcA routing protocol specifies how routers communicate with each other, disseminating information that enables them to select routes between any two nodes on a computer network. Routing algorithms determine the specific choice of route. Each router has a priori knowledge only of networks attached to it directly. A routing protocol shares this information first among immediate neighbors, and then throughout the network. This way, routers gain knowledge of the topology of the network.
Although there are many types of routing protocols, major classes are in widespread use on IP networks:
Interior gateway protocols (IGPs) exchange routing information within a single routing domain. Examples of IGPs include: Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) Routing Information Protocol (RIP) Intermediate System to Intermediate System (IS-IS) Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
Exterior gateway protocols exchange routing information between autonomous systems. Examples include: Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
Autonomous Systems, such as Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Path Vector Routing Protocol.
Some versions of the Open System Interconnection (OSI) networking model distinguish routing protocols in a special sublayer of the Network Layer (Layer 3).
The specific characteristics of routing protocols include the manner in which they avoid routing loops, the manner in which they select preferred routes, using information about hop costs, the time they require to reach routing convergence, their scalability, and other factors.
